When J. and T. traveled from California to celebrate their destination wedding in Italy, they dreamed of creating an unforgettable experience not only for themselves, but also for the family and friends who had traveled from across the globe to be part of their celebration.
To welcome their guests to Tuscany, we designed an authentic and elegant Welcome Dinner in the rolling countryside just outside Siena—an evening that perfectly blended Italian traditions with the couple’s Persian heritage.
An Authentic Italian Lasagna Party
Instead of a traditional rehearsal dinner, J. and T. envisioned a relaxed yet refined experience where everyone could immediately embrace the warmth of Italian hospitality.
The result was a charming Lasagna Party, inspired by one of Italy’s most iconic dishes. Surrounded by breathtaking Tuscan landscapes, guests enjoyed a convivial evening filled with homemade lasagna, exceptional local wines, laughter, and meaningful conversations.
The décor celebrated the essence of the Italian countryside with a sophisticated twist. Fresh tomatoes, aromatic herbs, bundles of pasta, natural textures, and seasonal details transformed the venue into a stylish celebration of Italian culinary culture, creating an atmosphere that felt both luxurious and effortlessly authentic.
Honoring Persian Wedding Traditions
The Welcome Dinner was much more than a welcome event—it was also the perfect occasion to celebrate the Aghd, the traditional Persian wedding ceremony that honored the bride’s Iranian heritage and her family’s roots.
A bespoke Sofreh-ye Aghd was carefully designed to reflect the beauty and symbolism of this centuries-old tradition. Every meaningful detail was thoughtfully arranged, including the mirror symbolizing light and reflection, elegant candles representing warmth and enlightenment, honey for sweetness in married life, fresh fruit, nuts, and other traditional elements that carry wishes of prosperity, happiness, and abundance.
The ceremony became one of the most emotional moments of the entire wedding weekend. It was heartfelt, deeply moving, and filled with genuine laughter as family and friends actively participated in this beautiful cultural tradition.

To end the evening on a playful note, everyone gathered around a charming vintage gelato cart serving authentic Italian gelato—an irresistible surprise that delighted guests of every age and perfectly captured the spirit of a true Italian celebration.
